Two Great Questions About How to Best Use RateWatch

After posting our Strategy Alert with Tom Griffith, Tom received an email from Jon Yenesel of Real Estate Mortgage Network with two very good questions. Jon asked:

1. How soon do you start sending a new client the RateWatch report after they funded their first loan with you?

2. Do you feel mailing RateWatch is better than emailing it?

Tom also shared his response with us so that we could share it with all our MC members and blog readers:

“We update the closed loan database every month, so once they are “in the family” so to speak, they receive the RateWatch report immediately. I am not advocating churning loans; I do advocate adhering to the system, because it’s that system that keeps you in the front of your client’s mind. I think that’s important from the first day of the relationship…

I prefer mailing the report because it requires your client to at least handle it and the more you can make it stand out in the mailbox, the more likely they are to actually open it, read it and take action if necessary. Email is too easy to filter or delete without them ever seeing it.”

I would also like to add that, very often when I do a Strategy Alert with someone who has had tremendous success with RateWatch, they tell me they do NOT fold RateWatch — instead, they mail it flat in an oversized envelope so it sticks out in the mail. This costs a little more, but it makes a huge impression.
